Student Runway

For Melbourne Fashion Week, we created a distinctive runway film celebrating the work of emerging graduate fashion designers and their DIY approach to fashion and design.

Rather than presenting the collections through the polished, sanitised language of traditional fashion films, we developed an intentionally raw and cinematic visual world that reflected the experimental spirit of the designers themselves. The art direction draws on film noir, youth culture and underground fashion imagery, combining competing light sources, textured architecture and unconventional styling to create a sense of tension and energy.

The result is a fashion film that feels immediate, rebellious and distinctly Melbourne, using bold art direction and cinematic storytelling to amplify the individuality of each emerging designer and their work.

By embracing imperfection and a DIY sensibility, the film captures a more authentic side of contemporary fashion, positioning Melbourne Fashion Week and its emerging designers within a bold, independent and creatively driven visual landscape.
